Adoption

James 1:27

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

I believe God placed adoption upon my heart many, many years ago. We agreed that one day, we would look into fostering or adopting when our children were older. Well, we kept having more! In 2008, we went through the process to become foster parents in hopes to eventually adopt. This process came to a halt due to a deployment. We won't be able to foster or adopt through the state now, due to "too many people" in our household.

As one door closes, another door opens! We've begun the process of domestic adoption! I'm excited to be able to share our own journey, but also praying that just perhaps, I'm able to plant a seed or maybe even water a seed God has planted in someone else's heart to pursue adoption.

I have a fiery passion within me concerning adoption. First and foremost, as Christ followers, our Father in heaven thought enough of us to adopt us. How awesome is He?! Secondly, He calls us to care for the orphans and widows and that is very clear in His Word. I get it! Now I want to be obedient and do something about it! There is a ransom to be paid for these babies and children. An expense that most of us don't have in our wallets, BUT our Jehovah Jireh does. And we are trusting as we walk through this adoption journey, He will provide. Join us on our journey by following our story as it unfolds. Be a part of the story by praying for us and thank you in advance for any donations given to help us bring home the child God has predestined to be in our family.

Update: We welcomed a sweet baby boy into our family through adoption! Kaenan was born on May 7, 2013. What a beautiful experience! We have so much love for his amazing first mommy!
